Psychiatric Comorbidity in Mexican Adolescents with a Diagnosis of Eating Disorders Its Relationship with the Body Mass Index

The prevalence of comorbid psychiatric disorders among patients with eating (ED) is higher than the general population. Individuals diagnosed have changes in their body mass index which could promote severe metabolic disruptions. This study aimed (1) to report a Mexican adolescent sample disorders, (2) compare our results reported from national survey mental health adolescents, (3) presence comorbidities between ED diagnoses, and (4) explore relationship these index. In study, we included 187 adolescents disorders. were evaluated using Mini International Neuropsychiatric Interview for children/adolescents, revised questionnaire on weight patterns. We found that 89% had another comorbidity. Major depressive disorder (52.40%) suicide risk (40%) most prevalent comorbidities. Attention deficit hyperactivity (ADHD) was different diagnosis, binge-eating ADHD Our showed this impact emphasizes importance clinicians take into consideration achieve an integrative treatment ED.
